Vegetable Industry Awards
Nominations for the 2008 Vegetable Industry Awards close on 29 February 2008. These national awards are an AUSVEG initiative and provide vegetable growers with the opportunity to gain recognition for achievements and innovation across a number of areas.
AUSVEG is the National peak industry organisation representing Australian vegetable and potato growers.
The awards cover five areas including Grower of the Year, Researcher of the Year and Young Grower of the Year. In addition, BML and Brismark jointly sponsor the Brisbane Produce Market Innovative Marketing Award, which was won in 2007 by Victorian Grower John Said.
This award recognizes an original marketing concept or solution that has created new opportunities for vegetables.
It would be great to see some finalists from Queensland in the running for the awards, which will be announced at an Awards night dinner to be held in Perth in May.
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the AUSVEG website, www.ausveg.com.au.
This is an excellent initiative by AUSVEG which works to highlight some of the achievements, successes and importantly the people, within the vegetable industry.
