$26,000 of free fruit & vegetables
Queensland’s biggest fruit and vegetable competition came to a close at the end of July and all 26 winners are now happily planning to spend their $1,000 worth of fruit and vegetables over the coming year.
Local greengrocers from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and even the Scenic Rim at Boonah participated in the first ever $26,000 fruit and vegetable giveaway.
The $1,000 of fresh produce could almost be a year’s supply of fruit and vegetables and this could make a real difference to the family budget when many are doing it tough. The competition is being coordinated and partly funded by the Brisbane Produce Market specifically for its Fresh Tastes retailers.
