Becoming a registered buyer

Becoming-a-registered-buyer

The steps for becoming a registered buyer are as follows:

STEP 1

Market Buying Brand (mandatory)

(Allow minimum 10 - 15 minutes, longer if there are code difficulties)

In order to enter the Brisbane Produce Market during commercial trading times, ALL market users must become registered buyers with Brismark, a major service organisation operating inside the Brisbane Produce Market.

To obtain a Market Buying Brand, go to the Brismark Credit Service Office in D Block where you  receive an application form and be given a unique four (4) letter Market Buying Brand.

Click here to learn more about Brismark and the services it provides to Brisbane Produce Market commercial buyers.

STEP 2

Brisbane Markets Safety Induction Program (mandatory)

(Allow 40 minutes)

ALL tenants, buyers and transporters using the markets MUST participate in the Brisbane Markets Limited Safety Induction Program, which includes viewing an induction video and answering some questions about the Markets.

Send staff to the BML Site Services Office located at the main gate of the Brisbane Markets between 5.30am and 2.00pm to view the induction video.

Access to the Markets is conditional to taking part in the induction process. Market users WILL be denied access to the Markets if they do not participate in the induction process.

STEP 3

Brisbane Markets Access Card (recommended)

Buyers wishing to gain direct access to the Markets in their vehicles during trading times may choose to obtain a Brisbane Markets Limited Access Card.

To obtain an access card, buyers must:

Complete an application form

  • Have Brismark verify their Market Buying Brand.
  • Produce photographic identification such as a Driver's License, Passport or 18 plus Card.
  • Pay the application fee to Site Services staff.

Please telephone Site Service on 07 3379 1062 to obtain further information about Access Cards and the Access Card application fee.

The card will be issued on the spot and will only allow access to the markets during buyer access times.

STEP 4

Brisbane Produce Market Reserved Parking (recommended)

In order to secure regular and convenient parking spaces to load vehicles near the trading floor, buyers are able to reserve car parking spaces during trading times.

To secure reserved parking spaces, buyers need to:

  • Have a Market Buying Brand
  • Have a Brisbane Markets Access Card
  • Fill out a form including their license and registration information

The fees for reserved parks depend on the location of the space.  To find out more, please contact our Site Services Office on 07 3379 1062.
